Shopping channels

You might wonder does The Countess watch home shopping channels?
Why, yes I do!
Let me give you a brief history.
I was a flight attendant for many years, and would arrive at my hotel room at some ungodly hour, there wouldn't be much on except(say it with me)home shopping!
The shopping channels offered familiar faces and a reprieve from the reality of the day.
Home shopping has come a long way since those days and now offers many famous designers selling  clothing, shoe and home decor items.
Some of the benefits of home shopping are the liberal return policies,  split payment plans(no interest)and you can shop in your pajamas!
So  take a look, don't be afraid, you can always return it.

Fresh Face for Spring

Spring 2010 make-up trends are lots of floral color, pinks, reds and corals.
Coral lips are very big for spring.
Make-up guru Bobbi Brown recommends" light shades of coral for pale skin",  medium skin tone" looks great in coral with a bit more orange", and" deeper golden skin tone use darker orange shades."

My Lilly Lament

You will notice that I mention Lilly Pulitzer quite often in my post.  I do love Lilly, it makes me happy, but  I hate to say it but Lilly is not very popular  in this part of  CA.  There are 7 (count them) 7 Lilly stores in the gigantic state of CA.  Sure there are small enclaves of Lilly lovers but on the whole, not so much.
I will occasionally see a young girl in Lilly but that is about it.   I remember wearing a very cute Lilly outfit to my daughters school orientation and you would have thought I wore a Bozo the Clown (with the nose)
outfit instead.
So, I resign myself to loving Lilly in my own way, which is wearing my Lilly pj's, drinking out of my Lilly coffee mug,  writing notes using my Lilly pen or pencils on my Lilly writing paper, relaxing in my Lilly guest room and writing about Lilly on my blog.
(Well,  ok, so I do dress my baby in Lilly and her name is Lilly(after my grandmother)and this summer I will be happily riding my new Lilly cruiser while wearing my Lilly sunglasses, so I guess I can't complain )

Pimento Cheese Recipe

Since I don't live in the South, and I got tired of trying to find pimento cheese at the grocery store, I decided to make my own.  Here is a great simple recipe for the food processor. (you will never want the grocery store brand again!)

Grate 1lb.of sharp cheddar.  Add 1 8-oz. jar diced, drained pimentos, 1 8-oz.  pkg. cream cheese, 3/4 cup mayonnaise, 2 tsp. garlic salt, and 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (or to taste).  Process until smooth.  Enjoy!

I just love this bike basket from katespade.com.
It would be perfect with the new Lilly cruiser.

I has been a nice California Sunday.
Drove to the outlet mall and checked out Kate Spade, Polo and Coach outlet .  Kate Spade had some great new bags for the summer.

I will spend the rest of the afternoon getting ready for the week ahead.
I already whipped up a fierce batch of pimento cheese and egg salad!
Hope you had a great weekend!

Here we go!

Well dear readers, I'm not sure what I'm doing, but what the heck!

I always seem to be the font of information for my girlfriends concerning new make-up and skincare, fabulous clothes, shoes and household items that I have found.
I'm not a snob when it comes to fashion, as long as its cute I don't care where it comes from!
In fashion and decorating I love mixing and matching expensive with inexpensive items for a great look.
I don't think its how much you spend, but how you put it all together!
I want to share my finds, be it fashion, health and beauty or home goods.(get it "HomeGoods")
I hope you enjoy my blog,
Sincerely.
The Countess
